GVKC is an official AKC Fit Dog Club. We will be offering AKC Fit Dog Events, that are open to members and guests. The general public may contact us (gvkc.pr.events@gmail.com) to be added to the guest list. All are welcome to register. We hope to see you and your furry friends at the other end of the leash. ~

You can get recognition and a magnet for walking with your dog, on your own or at Fit Dog Club events.

You can order your free magnet when you and your dog have met one of these fitness goals:

1. Walked at least 30 minutes 5 times per week for a total of at least 150 minutes per week for at least 3 months. For dogs and people in good shape.
2. Walked at least 15 minutes per session at least 10 times per week (e.g., two 15-min walks per day) for at least 3 months. For dogs or people who would benefit from a walk that is a shorter duration, e.g., senior dogs.

Below is a schedule of walk events for 2021:

The Genessee Valley Kennel Club Fit Dog Club was invited by the Strong Museum of Play to participate in a special event highlighting dogs.  We had an outdoor area set up at the entrance to the museum and encouraged visitors and their children to stop and pet our dogs.  We also offered the children the opportunity to walk a dog around a fenced, grass area.  We also had a small display highlighting our being a Barn Hunt Club.
